Can someone explain this to me?
Every time I ask a cop where they would choose to resist from if they are the suspect in a role-playing scenario, they say prone.
Yet, that’s the first place they put the suspect when they hit the ground during actual arrests.
If prone position is the strongest/best place to resist from, then why does law enforcement default to that position during arrests?
I’ve only heard 1 logical answer to this question: to apply handcuffs.
But what if handcuffs could be applied WITHOUT putting the person on their stomach?
It would change everything.
