A worn-out 1987 Chevy Crew Cab dually became a desert-ready off-road machine thanks to the students at Los Angeles Career Center. Starting with a cab swap onto a 2005 Chevy 4x4 chassis, the team transformed this squarebody into an LS-powered trail bruiser featuring Holley performance parts, a Terminator X EFI system, Ford Super Duty solid axle, ADS suspension, Yukon gears, and 40-inch tires.
Built as a hands-on learning project, the students tackled everything from welding and fabrication to mechanics and bodywork, creating the roll cage, bumpers, roof rack, custom dash, and more. After just four months of work, the truck was put to the test in the Utah desert - jumping, sliding, and tackling tough terrain without missing a beat.
