When the foundation is engineered correctly and laid out to suit your project, you can build with confidence knowing the structure is designed to last. The key is proper ground prep - taking the time to compact the surface, add paver base, and compact again before placing the blocks.
Following our recommendations, this deck uses 40 TuffBlocks laid out in four rows of ten, spaced 5 ft (1.5 m) apart. With the outer frame already level and joist hangers installed, those become the reference points for setting each block. Once the first joist goes in, the whole run stays level - just remember to keep the crown side of any bowed boards facing up.
