What is RV travel really like between the destinations? We're leaving Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, North Dakota, and making our way to Michigan with the Airstream, but when Trish plans the route, a beeline isn't exactly a straight line.
This is one of our favorite kinds of episodes to make because it's the day-to-day side of RV life. Drive days, fuel stops, finding places to dump the tanks, figuring out where to camp, and discovering places we never would have found if we were simply trying to get from point A to point B.
Along the way, Trish has a few stops in mind. We visit Warehouse 55, an incredible antique store in Batavia, Illinois, just outside Chicago. Then it's on to southwest Michigan, where we stop at Granor Farm in Three Oaks and Farmette in New Buffalo, a dog-friendly café and bakery that quickly earned a spot on our list.
These "between the episodes" episodes aren't necessarily about the big destination. They're about what happens along the way. And after more than a decade of RV travel, we've learned that some of our favorite memories come from the places we never planned an entire trip around.
