Over the years, there have been well over 100 separate mistakes, many of them starting in Australia due to time zone rollouts. These errors range from failing to turn on shiny rates, forgetting to activate spawns, incorrect raid bosses, broken research tasks, and more.
But this latest error involving Origin Forme Dialga & Palkia Raid Day might be the most frustrating yet. Niantic advertised boosted shiny rates for the event, but when the first region, Australia, began playing, it quickly became apparent that the rates were not boosted at all. Players poured in raid passes, coordinated massive raid trains, and expected a reasonable shiny rate… but the results told a different story.
This wasn’t the first time. We’ve seen similar mistakes with Legendary Raid Days, Community Days, and even special event debuts where spawns didn’t activate or advertised bonuses failed to appear. While mistakes can happen in any live-service game, the frequency and severity of these errors in Pokémon GO have gone beyond acceptable.
