Get onboard for a real time debrief of a 4 ship formation flying in a TFR on a challenging weather day.
Visit and/or fly with us at the Canadian Aviation Museum! canadianaviationmuseum.ca

Each year the crew from the Canadian Aviation Museum aims to fly as many of the fleet aircraft as we're able, over an event for the anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
It is rarely good weather, we're low over an urban center with significant obstacles, and in this case there was also an active TFR to be aware of.
When flying in Formation it is critical that my attention is not split, so this was a great use case of ForeFlight keeping us safe with super clear weather radar overlay, visual warnings and audio call outs that I was able to hear by having my BoseAviation headset connected to the iPad via bluetooth.
NOTE: In this case, I was actually low enough over the city that my cellular connection managed to stay at 1 bar of 5G and allowed for internet data to populate the current radar imagery LOL.
But for normal operations I have to give love to long time Flight Chops supporter SiriusXM Aviation for keeping me connected at any altitude with a satellite based data connection for my cross country flying.

Review of the context regarding operating “inside” a #TFR:

“TFRs by default are depicted as circles, but in this case, part of the circle expands into Canadian Airspace where an American TFR is not applicable; regardless, we were in contact with Windsor tower and the entire flight took place in their control zone.”

FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:

I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 20 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.
