They say the World Cup is bringing the world to Los Angeles. But in many ways, it's always been here. Gaku Tashiro, a Tokyo-born football videographer, arrived with his camera to explore the city with his friend Kakeru Otsuka.

LA is a city of many cultures. The game moves between them, drawing in people whose worlds might never otherwise overlap. Sometimes over tacos in Little Tokyo.

Metro is the thread that runs through all of it, from the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station to the concrete courts of Venice Beach to the alleys of Little Tokyo. As the World Cup arrives and visitors from around the world step off their plane, what they find will look a lot like this.
