Body dysmorphia, it’s not just eating disorders, but it’s also common for “gym rats” too. Many times, there’s an underlying insecurity, trauma, or fear, such as being bullied, disrespected, or assaulted, which causes them to want to feel the security of getting bigger and stronger. Although exercising and eating healthy is great, anytime someone becomes obsessed with looking a certain way, there’s usually a psychological issue causing them to go to that extreme.

And did you notice how Sara Saffari’s voice trails off along with her insecure body language, which indicates her insecurity of revealing that personal insight? It appears she knows what she is saying is not good and may even believe there’s actually an underlying psychological issue.

Sara, you may want to talk with a trained clinician.
