KQED Food | This Guy's Ravioli is Better Than Grandma's (Don't @ Us) | Check, Please! Bay Area @KQEDFood | Uploaded April 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
San Mateo’s Ravioli House, an old-school delicatessen that’s one of the last spots in the Bay Area still making their pasta in-house, whips up homemade Italian comfort food and made-to-order sandwiches. With six different kinds of handmade ravioli to choose from — and four fresh sauces — there's no wrong combination, but its unique Asiago Roasted Zucchini Ravioli with pesto sauce is a customer favorite.

About Check, Please! You Gotta Try This!:
Feed your foodie soul with Check, Please! You Gotta Try This!, KQED’s new spin-off series hosted by Leslie Sbrocco. Listen in as locals reveal their recommendations for the most delectable dishes in the Bay Area — from tasty appetizers and entrees to sinful desserts. These are the foods people love so much they’d stand happily in a long line to savor. And if you’re wondering why something is so delicious, the chefs will take us into their kitchens to see what’s in a dish and how it’s made, as well as share the stories behind them. Each episode is capped off by a segment where producer/reporter Cecilia Phillips hunts down off-the-grid dining experiences for even more delicious bites.
Support for Check, Please! You Gotta Try This! is provided by Oakland International Airport, IRG, Total Wine and More, Sutter Health and Oceania Cruises.
