After returning to LIMINAL WATERS for the first time since early access, I loaded back in to explore levels 5 - 8… and honestly, I was completely blown away.
This is Episode 2 of my Backrooms Week series as we continue building hype for the May 29th release of the The Backrooms movie.
In my previous video, I explored levels 1 - 4. This time, we dive deeper into some of the most impressive poolrooms and liminal space environments I’ve ever seen in a game. The atmosphere, lighting, scale, and surreal environmental design are on another level here.
One of my biggest criticisms of the earlier version of the game was that some areas felt too generic and the brightness needed work — but the full release completely fixes those issues. The visuals feel massively upgraded, the environments are far more memorable, and the entire experience feels refined and immersive from start to finish.
LIMINAL WATERS absolutely nails that strange dreamlike feeling of wandering through impossible spaces that shouldn’t exist.
