In this video I’m showing Polarity-SC, my modified version of the Spectral Compressor by Robert van der Helm. I always liked what the original plugin could do, but I never really liked the bright interface, so I made my own darker version and added a few extra features that I personally wanted in daily use.
Polarity SC is still completely free, with no subscription, no telemetry and no activation. It works on Windows, macOS and Linux, and it keeps the original Rust codebase. I use it mainly as a spectral ducker, resonance suppressor and sometimes even as a static EQ tool by freezing the gain reduction and exporting it as an impulse response.
