This Food Label Made Me Laugh
Saw a box of tomatoes at the store with a bold label that said: “GROWN FROM SEED.”
And I couldn’t help but laugh. Like… how else would you grow a tomato? It’s a perfect example of how marketing plays games to make something sound more natural, more “real,” or worth paying more for—when in reality, it’s just the basic truth of how food grows.
We’re living in a world where normal practices get repackaged as premium. It’s the same with labels like “gluten-free” on bottled water or “all natural” on products with 27 ingredients. As growers, we know what real food looks like—and we don’t need buzzwords to sell it.
