Hunting trips don't always go to plan and this year's flintlock deer hunt certainly took an unexpected twist. I'm hunting with my .50 cal flintlock rifle, the same one used during last year's wilderness mule deer hunt. I'm shooting 80 grains 1.5f swiss black powder and a patched round ball. Although I can shoot farther, my confident effective range for this muzzleloader is 100 yards or less. Join us as we spot and stalk, still hunt, and try to rattle in a whitetail buck during the rut.
