Hey TTI Family! Buckle your tool belts, because today we’re heading to the mountains—where one couple turned a dream (and a lot of timber) into a full-blown wooden masterpiece.
Meet Tine Strosar, aka *Wood Junkie*, a man who probably dreams in sawdust. Along with his wife—affectionately known as *Mrs. Wood Junkie*—they spent **30 months** crafting the ultimate mountain retreat. That’s 2.5 years of weekend hammering, hauling, and hoping it wouldn’t rain.
Why wood, you ask? Because it’s strong, sustainable, and a lot more forgiving than concrete when you drop it on your foot. Their adventure began in April 2021, and by October 2023, they had transformed a patch of rugged Slovenian land into a cozy cabin complete with solid beams, a solid plan, and (probably) solid calf muscles.
But this isn’t just a one-cabin wonder. Nope—this build is just phase one in their master plan to create a rustic mountain getaway, complete with off-grid cabins, tent spaces, and enough s’mores to fuel an army of scouts.
Their build journey was no walk in the woods. From laying a solid foundation to precision-cutting every plank, Tine tackled it all with a circular saw and a vision. And yes, every step—over **60 videos’ worth**—was shared with their growing online family.
Insulation? Check. Roof tiles? Perfectly angled. Waterproof wrapping? Like a raincoat for your walls. Electrical wiring? Safely tucked inside plastic conduits, just the way Mother Nature and the building inspector intended.
Of course, no wooden wonder is complete without a front porch—and theirs offers a panoramic view of nature’s greatest hits: sunrises, stars, and the occasional curious squirrel. And inside? Custom-built furniture by the couple themselves. Talk about matching your surroundings!
Add in moisture-resistant insulation that’ll last longer than your average smartphone, and you’ve got yourself a mountain retreat that’s cozy, efficient, and ready to withstand whatever nature throws at it—except maybe bears. (Let’s hope it’s bear-proof too.)
From planers smoothing rough boards to pipes placed with military precision, this cabin is more than a house—it’s a handmade legacy, built with love, patience, and a few splinters.
