CMI just published one of the worst articles I've ever seen on a young-earth creationist website — and that's saying something. Royal Truman's piece, "Evolution: The Most Lavish Marketing Campaign in History," argues that evolutionary theory dominates science not because of evidence, but because it's been marketed like Pepsi or Louis Vuitton. Yes, really.
In this video, I break down Truman's central claims and show why they fail — scientifically, logically, and theologically. His article attempts to dismiss all evidence for evolution as propaganda, draws breathtaking comparisons to Nazi rallies and Soviet pageants, trots out tired talking points about junk DNA and vestigial organs, and quotes Dawkins to score rhetorical points while committing the exact same errors he criticizes.
As a Christian with a PhD in biology, I find this article not just scientifically embarrassing but theologically dangerous. When organizations like CMI teach young people that all of science is a trillion-dollar brainwashing campaign, they're building a cognitive bunker — and when those young people encounter real geology, genetics, and paleontology, the faith often collapses along with the bad science.
I believe Christians deserve better than this.
