Cecil and I set out to find a lost cemetery hidden in the middle of a field, buried in a dense patch of overgrowth. Previous surveys reported this cemetery as lost or destroyed, but Cecil was able to track it down. To get there, we had to cross a dangerous metal bridge over a deep drainage ditch and fight through vines, thorns, bamboo, and tall grass just to reach it.
What we found was heartbreaking. Nearly every grave was damaged, shattered, or missing. Someone had run this cemetery over, leaving behind broken marble, shattered headstones, and total destruction. This is the worst case of neglect and destruction we’ve ever seen.
Before we even got to this cemetery, this video starts with a close encounter with an aggressive dog attack while searching for a different cemetery in the woods. It was a terrifying moment, and we barely managed to chase the dogs away. That experience left us shaken as we continued our search for this lost cemetery in the field.
