On display in the 25,000 square-foot facility in central Gillette are the automobiles, with old Hudson models the centerpiece. Also in the collection are unique specimens from numerous “forgotten” carmakers including Chandler, Crosley, Packard and Studebaker.
Each has been restored meticulously and displayed in a coordinated venue featuring wall murals, gas pumps, old-fashioned restorations of store fronts. Neon signs of virtually every description are another museum highlight, along with dozens of unique gasoline pumps and hundreds of distinctive “gas globes” which adorned the tops of old-style gas pumps around the country in the days when individual gas stations had to compete for motorist attention without the help of large-scale advertising.
