Thief Steals Semi and Container and Flips it on the Freeway! Imagine being skilled enough to steal and drive a fully loaded semi with a container, but not skilled enough to make it onto the freeway. No clue how this guy managed to steal this one, but he didn't make it far and unfortunately caused literal tons of damage. This onramp is a long windy steep one and is a huge hot spot area for rollovers on my channel.
Luckily no one was injured; not even the thief lol. He managed to escape out the cab, and hike it back up the hill to the street where he disappeared into the night. I was first on scene, followed by Alex and Castro. The chassis was not twisted or bent and the locks were still intact, so I made the call to close it back up for a quick and smooth upright. The other option was to split everything and roll them separate, but that would take twice the labor and time.
In our jobs, the less time on the freeway at night, the better. That's when most drunk drivers are active and they do not slow down for anything. Once upright, Castro was already in position to hook it up so it can be towed back to the yard.
