Flatbed Driver Crashed And Got Stuck in Guardrail! Well, at least it's not a rollover! Despite the description being a tractor trailer "up the mountain", this job was pretty straightforward when you break it down. Yes, it was wedged ugly with the guardrail and a wood post in front and it was loaded.
Winching straight forward or a sideways pull would do a ton more damage to both the truck and the guardrail. That's why I went with the "easy" solution of just lifting the entire thing over the guardrail and as close to my truck as possible. In the end I feel this plan worked best, with 0 additional damage to either truck or guardrail.
Once the front was clear, I had the other wrecker from Bob & Dave's Tow back up and already hook it up to his underlift. This allowed me to finesse the rear of the tractor and front of the trailer more easily. From here, it was just a few minutes to put my truck away while the wrecker finished prepping for tow.
Overall a fun and easy job, with some crazy traffic drivers on this freeway. What did everyone think?
