This might be one of the smartest budget kitchen upgrades I’ve seen.
Daniel and Szolt wanted a larger kitchen island but didn’t want to rip out the existing one or spend tens of thousands on a full remodel. So instead, they added a cabinet to the back side, used the same granite they already had elsewhere in their home, and created a new overhang for bar stools. One side is supported by the cabinet, and the other by a waterfall edge. It looks completely custom.
All in, including fabrication, installation, cabinet, paint, and hardware, they spent around $3,000. That’s how you get a bigger, more functional kitchen island without a full renovation. What a brilliant home hack!
