They gave away a top five AI model and the wrong stocks got punished.
How we're taking advantage of news like this is inside
skool.com/coinpicksgenesis, link in my bio, a dollar a month.
On July 27 Moonshot published the full weights for Kimi K3 on Hugging
Face. 2.8 trillion parameters, fourth among all frontier models on
independent testing, free to download by anybody on earth. The largest
open weight release on record.
So the price floor for frontier grade AI is no longer set by any
company. It is set by whatever it costs to rent the hardware. You
cannot unpublish a file, so that part is permanent.
Now follow it one step. If anyone can run a top tier model, do we need
fewer computers or more? Way more. Free models do not kill demand for
compute. They move it away from companies selling access to models and
toward companies selling the ability to run them.
The market sold off $3.3 trillion of chip stocks. The layer actually
under pressure is the subscription and API business.
And here is the part nobody says out loud. America restricted chip
exports to slow China down, so Chinese labs got obsessive about
efficiency. This model has 896 expert submodels and only fires 16 at a
time. That is exactly what you build when you cannot get enough chips.
Follow for the moves the news skips.
