The Kaw Nation (also known as the Kanza or Kansa) is historically known as the "People of the South Wind." They possess an incredible historical footprint: not only are they the namesake of the state of Kansas, but a member of the Kaw Nation—Charles Curtis—actually became the 31st Vice President of the United States in 1929.
