Before IgoUgo grew to 300,000+ members and eventually rolled into Travelocity, people in the travel industry laughed at the idea. They didn’t believe real people would write about their travel experiences online.

Jim’s insight? The category wasn’t new. The behavior wasn’t new. People had been journaling about travel for centuries. He just found a better way to package an existing behavior inside a massive market.
