The oldest worked gold in the world is not in Egypt, nor in Mesopotamia. It is more than 6,500 years old and lies beneath Bulgarian soil. And this is just the beginning.
In 1972, in Varna, a bulldozer operator accidentally unearthed a find that rewrote the history books. The Varna Chalcolithic necropolis contains over 3,000 gold objects—more than the rest of the world from that era combined. And Tomb 43 holds a secret that the academic community still struggles to accept today: more than 6,500 years ago, on the shores of the Black Sea, there existed a civilization with the most sophisticated gold metallurgy in the world, a proto-writing system millennia before Sumerian cuneiform, fortified cities with five-meter-high walls, and its own “currency” of salt.
In this video, we trace the evidence of the lost Black Sea civilization—from the Varna Necropolis and the Saltworks near Provadia (the oldest salt production center in Europe), through the gold from the Yunatsite burial mound and the tile from Gradeshnitsa, to the controversial hypothesis of the catastrophic Black Sea flood by William Ryan and Walter Pitman, Robert Ballard’s expeditions, the Tatul megalithic sanctuary, and the drawings in Magura Cave.
We examine what science says—and what it doesn’t. No sensationalism, no nationalism, no denial of inconvenient facts. Only what is documented in peer-reviewed publications, museum archives, and archaeological reports.
