This week, several unique pieces of Neve history are hitting our Latest Arrivals section. In a past life, these 1073s and 1066s were 2074 and 2068 broadcast modules. Essentially, just a line-in/EQ version of their better-known counterparts.
But all that changed when the modules were converted to match the specs of the 1073 and 1066. Each module now features period-correct mods and accurate vintage components, including St. Ives L10468 and Marinair LO1166 transformers for the 1073s and Marinair transformers for the 1066s.
With these 1073s and 1066s now serving Neve mic pre/EQ magic, you might be asking what the difference is between the two. While they share the same overall layout, the high shelf of the 1066 is fixed at 10K, whereas the 1073 is fixed at 12K. There are also subtle differences in the high pass filter as well as the mid EQ points.
