It's important for me, as an animator, to understand the movement of theropod dinosaurs well. After looking at a lot of reference material from Emus, Ostritches and fossil footprints, this is my approach to animating their locomotion. I showed it to Scott Hartman aswell to make sure I was doing it right.
I noticed that, when moving, Theropod Dinosaurs, much like modern birds, probably placed their toes first, then followed by their foot pad when walking, running or even jumping.
You are free to use this animation as reference for your own, and for drawings. Just make sure to not claim it to be yours and to credit me.
