Hey Paisanos! It's the Super Mario Bros. Super Show - just a little bit different than you remember it!
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is in theaters now, but there was a time where such a thing as American-made Nintendo products were a rarity!
Back in the 80ies and 90ies, when Nintendo was soaring but still rising and actually leased out their characters more, there were numerous American attempst to adapt their flagship franchises. One of the more famous is of course the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, where Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells took the role of the plumbing brothers to introduce the cartoon episodes.
...but they weren't the only ones who did.
John Esh on a VERY weird nostalgia trip as he takes a look at the DANISH version of Live-Action Super Mario, who tried to carry the torch from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show and into Super Mario Bros. 3.... with varying degrees of succes.
