This may be one of the more known facts about this game, I personally have found this as a child already for example, but it's still such weird and wonky coding that I thought it would deserve it's own video. It's just always fun to show of those little weird things about the games that we all love and played waaaayy too many times and maybe someone out there didn't actually know this yet.

I have no idea why this room and plant work the way they do but it's pretty cool to see and showcase. To my knowledge that is also the only plant in the game that displays this kind of behaviour and also the only one that stays permanently stunned which may be how this sort of glitch happened.
