It has been more than impressive lately how Harry Potter custom maps got bigger, prettier and just overall cooler during the past couple of years and I think it's fair to say that the Harry Potter custom modding community has reached another level in the past couple of years! And I think that has been made clear by an abundance of super well build and creative open world custom maps lately where the entire premise is to discover the castle of the game again. And those rebuilds are usually a bigger and prettier version of the base game castle, sometimes inspired by the original build but almost always they capture the magic of discovering Hogwarts from our childhood incredibly well.

But even among those maps it is rare that I am as impressed with the quality and looks of a map as I was with this one! Not only did it have clearly recognizable elements of Harry Potter 1-6 (without HP4 of course) build together into one castle, it also did it with incredible aestethics and a nice sense for actual castle design that makes sense! In the base game of Harry Potter 2 (PC) the castle is great but often feels a bit basic and just like a hub for the actual interesting stuff but this custom map completely flips that concept around.

I could spend hours discovering this castle alone and wandering around in the corridors checking out every single detail because there are a ton of references, nod-backs and overall everything just flows together so so well. Again I can only repeat myself, I cannot praise this open world castle enough and discovering this custom map really felt like a journey straight back into childhood, so many exciting and cool things around every corner and all that while introducing and adding never seen before secrets and game mechanics, just absolutely a 11/10 map where I honestly have nothing to criticize!
