Energy Transition Norway was established in 2018 to support the global oil and gas industry in its energy transition, aligning with the Norwegian government's aim of a 50% increase in non-oil-and-gas exports by 2030.
We work with offshore wind, solar power, wave power, hydrogen, batteries, geothermal energy, P&A, carbon capture and storage. We also support sustainable development in the petroleum sector for energy security during the transition.
Our member companies reflect this diverse focus. ETN is an ecosystem comprising numerous established companies, entrepreneurs, academia & research, authorities, and finance institutions.
As a cluster, we foster collaboration through meetings, workshops, and conferences, leading to innovative industry projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create new business and more job opportunities.
There is no shortage of new energy technologies and solutions out there. Our job is to identify those that reduce emissions and meet energy companies' needs, and to forward the best project ideas to our Technical Committee, where major energy producers on the Norwegian Continental Shelf come together quarterly to evaluate project proposals.
Through this process, ETN gives entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to present their ideas to several end-users in a single setting, overcoming the challenge of reaching decision-makers.
In addition, we reverse the process by letting energy companies present their challenges to a variety of entrepreneurs, rather than relying solely on the existing service portfolio of contracted suppliers.
Once a project is endorsed as a cluster project, ETN actively supports the project team in securing financing through private and governmental funding and ensuring project progress.
By bringing technology developers and energy companies together, we ensure that project initiatives harmonize with the strategic visions of the energy companies.
