The recent Xbox outage exposed a major weakness in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: cloud synchronization is convenient, but it is not the same as having a true backup. After Xbox services returned, some MSFS 2024 users reported missing graphics settings, controller profiles, custom camera views, and other simulator data.

In this video, I explain what can happen when Microsoft Flight Simulator’s cloud data is lost, corrupted, reset, or synchronized incorrectly—and how you can protect the local copies of your most important simulator settings.
IslandSimPilot Profile Manager was originally created to let you save, organize, and switch between complete graphics settings profiles in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It also includes backup and recovery tools for many of the files that can take hours—or even years—to configure.
Profile Manager can help protect:
• Controller and input profiles
• Custom camera views
• UserCfg graphics and display settings
• MSFS 2024 content configuration, including enabled and disabled streamed scenery and aircraft
