For years I've tested settings, drivers, utilities, and hardware in Microsoft Flight Simulator. The funny thing is that the more I learn, the more I realize there is still to learn.
This week, AutoFPS taught me something I wasn't expecting.
The numbers weren't what I thought they would be. The results weren't what I thought they would be. And it led me to rethink the way I think about simulator performance altogether.
Maybe optimization isn't about squeezing out more FPS. Maybe it's about understanding where your bottlenecks are, identifying unused resources, and spending your performance budget wisely.
