On July 25, 2010, music history changed forever.
After being eliminated as solo contestants on The X Factor UK, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik were given an unexpected second chance. Judge Simon Cowell and the judging panel brought the five teenagers together to form a new group called One Direction.
Although they finished third in the competition, One Direction quickly became a global phenomenon. The band went on to sell more than 70 million records worldwide, top charts across the globe, sell out stadium tours, and launch the successful solo careers of all five members.
What began as five rejected singers became one of the biggest boy bands in music history.
