Sub-500 grams! Is the Durston X Mid Pro 1 the world's lightest backpacking tent? The Durston X-Mid Pro tent weighs a feathery 488 grams including the bag. This is some serious ultralight backpacking gear. The lightweight Durston X Mid 1 Pro tent uses a special DCF fabric to achieve this with a high strength-to-weight ratio.
Despite the weight, this trekking pole tent is still really spacious and has some great features too including 2 pockets and 2 vents.
This ultralight backpacking tent ideally needs to be pitched on a flat surface. This is because the Dyneema Composite Fabric doesn't stretch. On uneven surface it is difficult to pitch perfectly.
I personally own the Durston X-Mid 1 Solid which I highly rate. I think this version is much better value for money. It's half the price, keeps cool breezes out, has a bit of stretch in the standard 20D nylon fabric and uses the same awesome design.
However, that being said, if you are planning a long thru hiking trip or multi day backpacking trip then the reduced weight will be welcome.

Optimal Geometry
Patented X-Mid geometry with twin offset poles provides excellent headroom, living space, stormworthiness, and ease of pitching.

More interior volume and useable length than almost all other 1P shelters. It has 50% more volume than its closest rivals including 90" of length even 12" off the ground, make it suitable for hikers up to 6'8".

Dyneema® Composite fabric (DCF) is extremely strong and highly waterproof (8,000mm).
