I put the poem to chords and spent a while trying to find strumming or fingerpicking patterns to play the song. I sang it a few times until I thought I could play and sing the song smoothly. I spoke the song the first time then sang it and strummed. I'm thrilled to be able to play and sing at all and to know my way around a ukulele a bit. I think Suno songs beat mine 100 to 0. Thanks Lucie Hodges for allowing me to put her poem The Willow of Smoke to music.
