ℹ️ After a year away, we’re back on the trail—and there’s nothing quite like that first step.
In this episode, we begin our next chapter on the Via di Francesco, setting out from the peaceful streets of Assisi and making our way to the hilltop gem of Spello.
Last summer, we walked from Florence to Assisi. This year, we’re continuing the journey south toward Rieti—and eventually guiding a group from Greccio all the way to Rome.
Day one didn’t disappoint. Rolling Umbrian hills, quiet paths, and that familiar rhythm of walking from place to place. But the real treat? Arriving in Spello just in time to witness the incredible preparations for the Infiorata di Spello—a stunning tradition where the streets are transformed into intricate works of art made entirely of flower petals.
