When the 1st Generation of Apple Watch was initially released in 2015, it only ever came in aluminum, stainless steel or 18K gold. However, there was a rare and largely undocumented version of the Apple Watch that never released publicly: the Apple Watch (1st Generation) 18K Gold Demo Unit.
This model was never sold publicly, and was only ever used exclusively in Apple Stores for demo purposes. It features a weird mix of features from all 3 publicly released models (the ION-X glass from the Apple Watch Sport, the Stainless Steel from the Apple Watch and the gold color and band style from the Apple Watch Edition) making an extremely unique piece of Apple history.
