Nothing can travel through space faster than the speed of light, but the universe itself can expand, stretch, warp, fold, etc. without a known speed limit. How fast is the universe expanding?
Does the fact that nothing can go faster than the speed mean that the expansion of the universe will not keep accelerating forever? Will it reach a speed limit? No, because the cosmic speed limit (speed of light) only applies to objects in the universe, not space itself. In fact, the universe is already expanding faster than the speed of light.
