A Night Fury-centric vid turned tale of the conflict between dragons and Vikings, represented by Toothless, Stoick, and Hiccup. I wanted here to show how fierce and wild Toothless is. That he's not just a cute pet, but a powerful, violent dragon that should be respected and is not to be messed with. There's a subplot going on with Hiccup's desire to kill Toothless melding by vid's end to an awe of the creature's power.
I've wanted to make a Toothless appreciation vid for a while and had a couple songs lined up for it. I even started on one piano piece earlier but this song just had the guttural power and primeval nature that I think matches not only the dragon persona but the Vikings they are warring against. I heard it first as the opening theme to The History Channel's The Vikings. It's such a moody, dark, brooding song, so hypnotic and haunting. Gah. It's addictive! The song, paired with all those throaty Toothless VOs made this vid a little scary as I was making it, though I really enjoyed putting it together since I used a lot of clips I never did before -- and skipped a lot I often do, like magic hour, the final battle, anything friendship related (LOL).
My sister had wanted a Toothless VO video since my Down video ("In that moment I thought I lost it all") months ago so this was a perfect birthday gift for her!! Happy b'day, toothlesslove! (on Tumblr) Also, theNightFuryfan95 -- congrats on being on YT for 2 years!! *throws confetti!*

A total left-fielder from me, but I remember loving the Alex Rider books as a kid and then I found out they made a new series, watched it, and was sold. Of course it was a small fandom so here I was deciding to provide content. The show is a wonderful mix of YA adventure, friendship, and darkness. Thereโs a lovely bit of introversion running through the whole thing that hits my buttons, and itโs always a good feels trip to watch an unwilling hero coerced into dangerous espionage to save the world. Before HTTYD and before my WW2 fandom I loved spy stuff and Sherlock Holmes. Alex Rider helped fill the 007-shaped hole in my fandom back then. I totally loved the updated, modern take here, backlit in sparkling British cinematography. Hereโs looking forward to more redemptive adaptations of classic middle grade books (revving for that Percy Jackson series coming to Disney+!).
