The 2025 National Lab Research SLAM showcased the best and brightest of the Department of Energy’s early-career researchers on Capitol Hill. Seventeen participants, one from each DOE National Laboratory, had three minutes to share their research with a broad, non-expert audience in an engaging and entertaining way. Judges evaluated participants on content and communication. The finalists competed in four research areas: energy security, national security, scientific discovery, and environmental resilience. Additionally, a People’s Choice winner was selected by the in-person and virtual audience.
