This is the part of the game where things get really dark, in their most shocking turn yet. After safely making it back to Sokolov the playable character talks to him about their experiences.
In Orbon’s story, he recalls GHOST showing him someone killing a little girl. That is before Sokolov explains the truth. What GHOST did was remove their mind control and show them one of their memories. We find out the truth behind Orbon’s past. It was Orbon who shot and killed his young niece in a hunting accident. Unable to live with the trauma and guilt, Orbon killed himself some time after. Only being brought back to life as a cyborg for the government’s interest. Orbon asks for Cubon to remain ignorant of his past and tries to forget about what he’s been told and move on.

Out in the field, Cubon's hesitancy to shoot an enemy soldier with a bomb detonator led to his whole squad being blown up. Although Cubon lived, riddled with guilt and trauma, he kills himself shortly after. Only being brought back to life as a cyborg for the government’s interest. Cubon asks for Orbon to remain ignorant of his past and tries to forget about what he’s been told and move on.
