Why are there not more outdoor gear review channels here in the UK? For starters, UK creators have to pay for most of their camping gear. Yes, we do get given the odd piece of backpacking gear but the vast majority we pay for.
Ultralight backpacking gear in particular is extremely expensive. To test and review various tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and pads costs a fortune.
I love wild camping and I've always been passionate about helping people spend their hard earned money on items that fit their requirements and budget. For me, value for money has always been a top priority.
Value for money doesn't always mean cheap backpacking gear. Top end items such as Hilleberg tents have a huge re-sale value and they last for years too.
Personally, it doesn't surprise me how few gear review channels are here in the UK. I wish that one day, UK content creators will receive the support they so desperately need to provide high quality gear recommendations no matter the budget.
