Here is my 2023 Terra Nova Southern Cross 1 tent review. This is a well built, high quality solo backpacking tent. It's a true 4 season tent with it's low fly, solid interior and durable materials.
The Terra Nova Southern Cross 1 is a completely free-standing, 4 season backpacking tent for 1 person. Its quick pitching and large vestibule make it ideal for any time of the year.
The Southern Cross 1 takes its design inspiration from the award-winning Laser range of lightweight tents. If you’re after a 1 person tent that will stand up to almost anything, then this is the tent for you.

New for 2023 – adjustable upper vent hoods on the flysheet to help with condensation management.
Updated for 2023 – revised adjustable flysheet door tie-back for opening options and extra pegging point on the door.
Updated for 2023 with a PFC-free breathable inner tent.
Provides excellent stability and structure.
Pitching is quick and easy as the flysheet and inner are erected as one
The flysheet and groundsheet are fully taped providing complete waterproof protection.
Due to its freestanding nature, pegging is kept to a minimum
Includes a spacious inner and porch and the porch door can be fixed open in several ways to provide the most suitable weather protection. The inner tent door has a zip-closeable mesh panel to help regulate ventilation.
There’s a useful webbing loop at the bottom of the flysheet door to accommodate a trekking pole, enabling you to create a canopy.
