Featuring: Chaplain Dan Lehigh

The hub area of Carlisle, PA handles more trucks than anywhere on the East Coast of the United States. According to Dan Lehigh, Chaplain of the Truck Stop Ministry, "Every hour of every day, men and women drive 'big rigs' in and out of four area truck stops carrying everything that we eat, wear, drive or use. Their jobs are incredibly stressful."

Chaplain Dan discusses the fact that about half of the over-the-road drivers are gone from home for 2-3 months at a time. "It's not unusual to talk with someone who has been away from home for 6 months to a year."

"Brethren Voices" meets with Dan Lehigh, a member of the Upper Conewago Church of the Brethren of the Southern PA, District. He has served as Chaplain of the Truck Stop Ministry for 10 years in an outreach that began in 1985 and is supported by the Southern PA District and many Church of the Brethren congregations of the area. Numerous other area churches and organizations are also involved in this ministry.
