Iconic pub, The Tipputs Inn on the A46 south of Nailsworth, is reopening tomorrow, Saturday, after being closed since May.
Karri Chambers, who has been appointed manager, has a solid background in Hospitality Management and a deep connection to The Tipputs as a lifelong local who has previously worked there. Karri brings a genuine passion to the pub's new direction and emphasis. Being one of the last freehold public houses in the area, Tipputs' new direction is especially significant.
“The vision is to reintroduce a traditional 'local' vibe to the area. The focus will be on offering excellent drink choices at competitive prices, providing a space for the community to socialize. Whether it's enjoying a game of darts, pool, cards, or simply relaxing in the bar with some delicious homemade bar snacks, the emphasis is on fostering a sense of community,” explained Karri.
“When we reopen on Saturday at 5pm, everyone joining us will have an exclusive preview of the new Tipputs experience. Expect a friendly greeting, delicious homemade bar food at affordable prices, and a diverse range of drinks, including ale from the renowned Uley Brewery. These elements contribute to the nostalgic concept of a cosy local pub with a hospitable ambiance

The pub was built in 1769, initially functioning as a coaching inn situated on the incline just above Nailsworth, it was primarily constructed using Cotswold stone. Strategically located, the inn served as a stop for hitching an additional team of horses to prevent carts from tipping over as they descended into Nailsworth – hence the name Tipputs.
