Welcome back! Today we’re talking about the Award Winning Indie trilogy, Threadlight, by Zach Argyle.

Threadlight is a completed trilogy of relatively short books, about 350-400 pages long each. Threadlight has a huge emphasis on a magic system, with cool abilities, new discoveries, and revealing ancient secrets. Many fans call this ‘Sanderson-lite’ and I think that’s accurate. If you like Brandon Sanderson, you will find a LOT to love here.
We have three protagonists, from three different countries, each with their own relationship to magic. And we have several mystery plotlines that build to big revelations! Lots of good stuff.
Although, the series is not perfect. This is essentially a big fantasy concept told in three short books, so there are a few places where I thought the story felt rushed or stretched too thin.
So let’s go deeper. This is a spoiler-free review looking at strengths and weaknesses, and hopefully we’ll convince more readers to try out this underrated indie series. Let’s begin!
