This is an extra stage that appears on NG+ after Ch. 16 where you play as Vitis with Juju and Galumn as your partners. No bosses, but there are some hard enemies and it can take some getting used to to play as Vitis if you've only played as Fiel up to now.
We see his confrontation with Cain and it's shown that Vitis had been freed from the gods' mind control for a long time, he was just acting as a double agent, which both explains why he let the party go in Ch. 4 and why he didn't seem as surprised as everyone else when he was defeated in Ch. 15.
