Chapter 5 has the debate talks reach their peak as the day comes to a close and night comes. So now we've got all "what if" scenarios where the strategists try to beat the other.
First is a showdown between Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi, on the side of Zhuge Liang. You can really see why Sima Yi just hates Zhuge Liang in their dialogues because he always says something backhanded to him. Like instead of Zhuge Liang challenging Sima Yi, he says like "I see you wish to challenge me, Sima Yi. But are you sure that is wise?" Like it makes ME want to see him finally get put in his place.
The battle has an interesting gimmick, Sima Yi utilizes teleporting magic to transport your ally officers and your own team members to bases that can't otherwise be reached. It's hard to avoid the teleport as well because it's a very fast moving sigil that travels along the ground and just warps you instantly. But you actually want to be teleported so you can take over the faraway bases and rescue your allies. I didn't realize that until it was too late, but oh well, it's not a big deal, though there is a mission for saving your allies.
After that, we get a mission to lure Wang Yuanji and Zhong Hui to one of the teleporter bases after we've taken it over to teleport THEM away. Then we advance on Sima Yi's forces and take him down.
After the battle, Sima Yi complains that he won because he had the player's help, but Zhuge Liang says recruiting talented officers is part of the strategy as well, and that Sima Yi was in the palm of his hand from the very beginning.
