"It was okay. I can see people liking the maze-like structure, but I am not the targeted audience.
What I don't like about mazes is it becomes really frustrating when I get lost and confused. If the enemy gets me, then I would need to run through the maze over again. Going through that multiple times would make me mad. Luckily I managed to do it on the first try.
If you MUST have a maze if your horror game, I would recommend you let the player run through it first before having a monster go after them. When the player runs through the maze again, have things happen. For example, have some pipes burst flooding the basement even more. So that way, the chase would be more enjoyable while keeping the uncertain unpredictability.
