The Mighty Ducks as a beloved franchise grew in the 1990s to be so much more including an animated show. There was also merchandise, theme park celebrations, and a real life team, the Anaheim Ducks, or at that time, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. With Michael Eisner as the head of the Walt Disney Company, he looked to expand the brand into various places, but ultimately it went away before the end of the decade.
The Mighty Ducks is also part of a larger output of animated television produced solely for the purpose of growing a brand, whether that was to sell toys like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or to bring new eyes to something like celebrities or sports teams.
